My daughter loved Word Girl, and I loved she was learning while she was watching it! There are eight episodes, each with two new words introduced and defined in a fun way so that the kids will understand. This DVD just came out on August 24th and would make a cute, educational gift for Halloween or a Birthday! Some of the words are too big for my 5 year old daughter, but I have noticed that my boys have picked a few up even though they pretend not to be watching while the show is on. (I even caught them looking at the tv a few times, but they insist it is a “girls show”)

I knew that my kids liked the original Madagascar movie, but I didn’t know how much they loved watching the tv series The Penguins of Madagascar! When I told them we were going to review Dreamworks newest dvd; Happy King Julien Day they were extremely happy about it and asked me everyday if it had came in the mail yet. When it did come they watched it that day, and then watched it a couple more times in the days following.

Dinosaurs Under The Sea on DVD

My kids really loved this one, and the vivid colors even caught my toddlers attention. She doesn’t watch a lot of tv yet and won’t take a second glance at many cartoons but she will actually sit and watch this one! My boys liked it too which was another shock. Each episode starts off with the Pteranodon family announcing a new field trip where they will introduce a new species. Since they use the scientific words for each dinosaur, there were a lot of long words that the kids didn’t understand but it didn’t seem to bother them at all. This one is a definite new favorite in my house and is entertaining & educational for all ages!
